      Seven Chakras

The 1st Chakra or ROOT Chakra is located at the base of the spine. This chakra includes survival and sexuality and binds us to our immediate families, our ancestry and their beliefs and prejudices. Not only are a person’s earliest life experiences imprinted on the first chakra but ancestral memories, traumas and emotions that go back many generations are coded within this chakra. It is represented by the color red.

The 2nd chakra or WOMB Chakra is the area into which the creativity of the universe flows and imagination grows. It holds a world of joy, freedom and laughter removed from the traumas of life. It is the center which nurtures the embryo and makes a baby so lovable. It is the color orange.

The 3rd chakra or SOLAR PLEXUS Chakra is also referred to as the power chakra. It is located between the navel and the rib cage and houses the liver, gall bladder, stomach, pancreas, spleen and well as the kidneys and the adrenals. It is the ego chakra and can be cunning, suspicious and more aware of responsibility rather than the childlike innocence of the 2nd chakra. It is the center which houses logic. Social expectations are imprinted …who I am…who the world sees us as and what we want the world to remember us for. It is the color yellow.

The 4th chakra is the HEART Chakra. Love is the product of the heart chakra. Indigenous cultures believe thought originates in the heart, not the brain. Researchers have shown that the heart has a nervous system and that it makes decision independent of the brain, such as how fast to beat. And the electrical wave produced by the beating heart has approximately fifty times the amplitude and about a thousand times the strength of a brain wave tends to pull the brain and other organs into synchronization or entrainment. The heart chakra is represented by the color green, the middle color of the spectrum.

The 5th chakra is the THROAT Chakra. It holds information from all the other chakras. Energy flows up from the root, womb, solar plexus and heart chakras to the throat chakra and down from the crown and the third eye to the throat chakra and is “metabolized” as our unique expression of the word. It is represented by the color aqua.

The 6th chakra is the Pituitary or THIRD EYE Chakra. It is the center of thought and abstraction, deep perception and understanding. Via this chakra, we can gain access to the psychic plane. When we clear the sixth chakra of crowded thoughts, this chakra can become a reliable source of psychic information and premonition. It is the color indigo blue.

The 7th chakra or CROWN Chakra is our connection with the realm of the spirit. Instead of intellectual answers as from the third eye chakra your experience through the 7th chakra will be one of deep peace and understanding of life. Meditation and prayer are powerful ways of opening your crown chakra. It is the color violet, or sometimes white, the combination of all colors.

If you are feeling slugglish, the energies in your chakras are also slugglish. Clearing the chakras removes toxic energies both recent and long-standing and your body is better able to adapt to circumstances you must face.

A Chakra Balancing session is followed by Reiki, concentrated on the 7 chakra systems, and leaves a person feeling centered and grounded, energizes them and aligns them with a deep part of themselves.
