Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh® Certification
Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh® was accepted by the Association of Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) as a trademarked modality. MRTh® balances the body's posture by releasing soft tissue into proper position to facilitate efficient, functional movement. Postural balancing encourages the body to move fluidly with less, and often no discomfort. MRTh®combined with core strengthening activities like Pilates, serves as the strongest foundation on which to build any health and wellness regimen.
MRTh® empowers massage therapists with the capacity to heal. Current practitioners of Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh® enjoy the fulfillment of providing tangible results for their clients. By earning a MRTh® practitioner certification, you will acquire a honest, holistic, skill that is truly beneficial to every single person.
Overview of Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh® Certification:
Students will be able to:
~Perform the fundamentals of palpation (Sensing vs. Feeling) ~Understand tensegrity model of functional movement
~Explain the difference between postural and phasic muscles ~Understand how the NOD© is incorporated into all movement ~Understand the extracellular matrix system, auric connective tissue
~Incorporate the history of MRTh® into their communication
~Describe and visualize the complex Fascia system ~Confidently use MRTh® technique in their practice ~Demonstrate the function of the diaphragms and core muscle group
A proficiency in Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh® commands a profound comprehension and awareness of the causes of chronic pain symptoms. The proficient individual understands that trauma will trigger compensation patterns which causes the body to adapt. A Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh® practitioner will detect the adaptation, reverse the compensation patterns to reveal the original trauma and restore tensegral and postural balance.
A tensegrity is any balanced system composed of two elements – a continuous pull balanced by a discontinuous push. When these two forces are in balance, the result is a maximally strong and stabilized system. The muscular-skeletal system is a tensegrity of muscle and bone. The muscle provides continuous pull, the bones discontinuous push.
The forces between the bones and muscles are held in constant balance. This forms the basis for all our physical mobility. By working with the extracellular system, MRTh® will enhance and energize fluidity of functional movement of the body and help create a healthier system.
It is important to view the technique not as a protocol, but as a process. MRTh® is an in-depth exploration of the soft tissue structure, paired with the theory of postural balancing, which uses intricate releases to restore proper movement and function to the body.
For students who would like to pursue a Certificate of Achievement in MRTh®, there will be a written and hands-on test. It is recommended that each student keep a journal of their experiences once the classes have begun. This will suffice as case study work. Continuing education in Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh® will be required to maintain the most current MRTh® techniques.
Each part is worth nine (9) Continuing Education hours with NCBTMB. Aspiring MRTh® practitioners must attend all eight (8) parts, achieve at least a 75% score on the written exam, and meet MRTh® Certification Criteria.
