2010-2011 Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh® Certification
Class Descriptions
Part I: August 27th and 28th, 2010
Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh®: History and Physiological Background
Learn how this method was developed and how it continues to evolve. You will understand the fundamental techniques used in assessment and evaluation.
Part II: September 17th and 18th, 2010
Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh®: Energy and Fascia; Tensegrity
Describe and visualize the complexity of the Fascia system and discuss the fundamentals of palpation and the difference between sensing and feeling. In this session the student will learn and experience touch and how it transfers to the receipent so that full release is obtained.
Part III: October 15th and 16th, 2010
Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh®: Pelvis as the Foundation
The therapist will be able to describe the complex fundamental movement of the pelvic girdle and will learn techniques to bring the surrounding tissue to balance. The focus of this session will be the intricate movement of the pelvic girdle and how it needs to position itself for support of the frame and how it will stabilze and initiate movement within the body.
Part IV: November 5th and 6th, 2010
Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh®: Torso and Upper Extremity
Learn Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh® techniques specific to the torso and upper extremity. Discuss and demonstrate the complex functions of the diaphragms, core group and the stabilization of the torso in upper extremity movement. During this session the student will learn the importance of the breathing mechanism and how it relates to limited range of movement in, not only the thoracic region but, how it will interfere with range of motion of the the upper extremities.
Part V: December 3rd and 4th, 2010
Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh®: Lower Extremity
Learn Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh® techniques specific to the lower extremity. Discuss the importance of proper ankle flexion in movement. Discuss the importance of the sesamoid bones of the lower extremity (patella and 1st Metatarsal) and how they affect the overall structure. This session will focus on many intricate movements and why individuals suffer from Plantar Fasciitis, shin splints, chondromalacia, etc.
Part VI: January 7th and 8th, 2011
Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh®: The Skull
Discuss and demonstrate the fundamental movement of the Cervical/Skull areas of the human anatomy. Recognize the responsibility of the cervical curvature for many chronic pain symptoms. The protector of the brain; the vault of life within the body. Understand the many ways that it needs to function in order to allow proper movement throughout the entire body. How this structure creates the symptoms of TMD, Migraine Headaches, and other related issues of discomfort to the human body.
Part VII: February 4th and 5th, 2011
Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh®: Cranial Nerve Therapy
Learn Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh® techniques in direct relation to the cranial nerves and their impact on complete body balance.
Part VIII: February 25th and 26th, 2011
Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh®: Peripheral Nerve Therapy
Learn precise techniques to release blockages in the Peripheral Nerve system and help individuals suffering from limited range of motion problems, radiculitis, and other nerve related disorders.
Part IX: March 18th and 19th, 2011
Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh®: Focus on Movement
In this class the student will learn to recognize faulty movement patterns that will injure individuals and are the culprits that create reoccurrences of existing problems. Understanding movement will allow you to create results for your clients in less visits, thus with less frustration over repeat injuries.
Part X: April 8th and 9th, 2011
Intermediate Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh®Techniques I
We will combine the previous nine sections with case studies as real-life examples. As the Muscle Release Therapy, MRTh® practitioner, you will be able to address many of the issues your fellow associates scratch their head over.
